What is Homestuck?

Homestuck is a webcomic started by a man named Andrew Hussie. It has accumlated a huge fanbase, of which I am a part of. The main story is as followed: Four kids, John, Rose, Dave, and Jade have all recently turned 13. They are all online buddies, and have all come in contact with a new game called SBURB. It is so new, no one says or possibly knows what it does, they just wish to play together. As soon as it starts, meteors start raining from the sky! Earth is under seige by meteors, and it's all the games fault! Now these kids must complete the game, or perish in it's coils!

Chapter 1

Basics for starting Sburb

You will need two or more people to play this game. These two people, A and B will either be a client play or a server player. Since this game has the capabilities to create a universe, it is easy to understand that it can also interact with you directly, like sims. The person who enters Disc 1 (client version) is the client player and is the sim. The person who enters Disc 2 (server version) gets to initially play Sims with the client player's surroundings. Let's say person A uses Disc 1, and person B uses Disc 2. Much like "Who's your Daddy?" The two games will connect, enabling the server player to see the client player through an unseen camera. Person B can now mess with still objects, and with the house the client, or A, resides in as a server player. They deploy the items needed like you would for your sims survival. Only this is a real freind in real peril. B can deploy a cruxtruder ,totem lathe, and an alchemiter. A cruxtruder is an odd mechanism with a timer on it. That timer is how much time you have left to do whatever is needed to be done to start phase 2 of the game, don't do it in that timeline and you will die in the Reckoning, basically the destruction of the area of the planet you inhabit. The cruxtruder also has a lid you must pop off. Under that lid will be a glowing, floating, sentient ball. Also known as the Kernel sprite. We will talk about that later. Under the lid is also some cruxite. Now  A grab that shit, it is an odd cylinder of your favorite color.  Take it to the totem lathe, and put it in. In the same inventory everything else was deployed from will be a pre-punched card the server player, or B can put down. It will be a card the game has made for A. Now stick that card in the slot of the totem lathe. This will make the totem lathe carve into the cruxite to create an odd vase-like shape out of the previously perfect cruxite. Take this to the alchemiter, there will be a stand for it. The alchemiter will scan it, and the scan will create a special item that player A must interact with him to bring him/her into the meduim.

Sburb may seem evil, but it is not. Well, not exactly. Where this game comes from is unknown. However, the end goal, the winning stage, is to create a universe. Yes, SBURB gives you reasources needed to create a universe. In return, you must sacrifice your planet and go through serious trials in order to acheive this. You get to inherit god like powers, help your freinds through thier adventure, and slay many little devilish creatures. The game is also tailored to you. You get to choose your own helpful guiding companion, you get a custom planet to explore, the imps you fight have aspects of the companion you choose, you get a title all to yourself when you reach godtier, and you get to dream on the planet of Prospit or Derse.

The Kernel Sprite

Is probably one of the most important aspects of the game. The Kernel sprite is your guide, and he/she/it will help you along your journey to create a new universe. However, the sprite only starts out as a glowing ball that comes out of your cruxtruder, and before you interact with your item to enter the game itself, you MUST protype the sprite atleast once! If you don't your game will be a failure and the destruction of your planet will be pointless! The first protyping will effect the enemies and the royal rings of Prospit and Derse. However, we will get to those later. Kernel sprites are normally given something random, however a sprite can be protyped twice. A second protype is almost mandatory for coherent speech. Most second protypings are dead things. A lost loved one, thier ashes, or in one girls case, her dead stuffed cat. A morbid but happy pattern the kernelsprite has is bringing back someone you loved to hel guide you on this perilous quest of yours.

SBURB

Chapter 2

What is it?

It is essentainly phase 2 of SBURB. Once you interact with your item in the required way you and your house will be teleported on to a planet made for you. This planet will have it's own strange features and own inhabitants  according to you. These may be hints at your godtier, personality, or inner deamons. Or all three. The Meduim involves your planets, aswell as the people who are your serverplayer and people who you (or A) are a serverplayer for. In order to complete SBURB you must a have a ring of people who are serverplayers for eachother. Along with planets and inhabitants, you will receive a special one of a kind denizen and godtier aswell as either sleeping on Prospit or Derse.

The layout

The meduim is basically a small solar system for just you and your co-players. In the middle of it is Skaia, a huge planet with a few bits of plants and a checker-like ground. It's clouds offer visions of the future to anyone who might glimpse them, it will always be acting like a sun to every session. Every session gets thier own Skaia. The closest thing to it is Prospit, a small golden planet orbiting it like a moon. We will talk about prospit later. A little further out, your planets will orbit Skaia. Quite a ways away will be the veil. The veil is a huge circle of meteors surrounding your meduim. Not too far out of it will be Derse, but beyond Derse lies empty space and terrifying darkness.

The Medium

How many others got to the meduim?

Beleive it or not, our universe was created by this game. Yes, a group of twelve young aliens, called trolls, came in contact with thier own version of SBRUB. Their's was called SGRUB. The twelve correlate to the star signs. They had to protoype twelve things, giving the enimes twelve attributes and making them much harder t0 beat. Below is a video of the Fighting the final boss.

Trolls

Trolls fighting their final boss

Prospit

A golden kingdom with inhabitants with skin that glisten like pearls. You may wake up here if you fall asleep in SBURB. Your dreamself is a beloved prince or princess. The Queen and King respect you so much, and will be delighted when you wake up. When you wake up you will be in a golden room similar to your own, in golden pajamas. You will be able to fly out of your window, look up at Skaia, and see glimpses of the future in the clouds. Black clouds depict your death, while bigger, more solid visions depict the near future or current happenenings. More fuzzy, vauge visions in the clouds tell of farther off future events. Current headcannon is that doglovers dream here.

Derse

A dark kingdom in darness, Derse respects you as a prince or princess, however they see you also as a political threat. A kingdom of shifty individuals with obsidian skin and sporting the color of dark purple, this kingdom's King will be your final boss. The Queen is no better, a smug, intelligent, flirtatious, indifferent, and power hungry lady, she might just send out Derse agents to kill you. Or not. Depends on just how awful your Queen is. Once her king is dead, she will not be much of a threat. Infact in one universe, killing her destroyed the universe. Also they hate frogs. Probably just becuase in order to complete the game you must use frogs, which will be discussed later, and they (all of Derse) is supposed to be the "enemy". However, under some circumstances, you can befreind quite a few Dersites. Imstead of Skaia's cloud you get to talk to sketchy gods that crawl about from beyond the veil.

The kingdoms

The game will spawn two kingdoms, one of shifty acts and a deep purple, another of happiness and sun yellow. These kingdoms will fight over Skaia, the checkerboard planet with fourtune telling clouds! These kingdoms are inhabited by carapacians, chess like people either black as night, or white as a lilly. The Kings and Queens of each kingdom obtain the attributes of what you prototype. In each game, Prospit is bound to loose. Making the Black (Derse) King the final boss. The power of obtaining protype attributes come from either the King's scepter, or the Queen's ring. If any carapacian gets either they will obtain the attributes of what was prototyped. However, this does not effect humans. Because that would make the game too easy for you to protoype something powerful, and then steal the Queen's ring. This is a self-aware game we are talking about.

GodTier

Godtier is one of the best things of SBURB. It gives you amazing powers that are tailored to your personallity, abilities, or inner deamons. It can be a deciding factor in winning or dying if you acheive GT. How to acheive GT is to... die on your questbed. Whether suicide or murder, you must die on a stone slab. Die on this slab and one of you will die, however, you will wake in your dreamself, with new fantastic powers! However, if your dreamself is dead, you just die. This is why godtier is hardest for Dersite dreamers.

Despite the very extreem requirments, it is unarguably worth it. Now you will have control over an element, or aspect. There are twelve aspects, Blood, Time, Breath, Doom, Heart, Space, Mind, Luck, Void, Rage, Hope and Life. How you control your element is based on your class. There are tweleve classes, Knight, Maid, Page, Mage, Rouge, Sylph, Seer, Theif, Heir, Bard, Prince, and Witch. All 144 unique combinations have interesting attributes and original abilities! There is a GT for just about anyone. In fact, to find out yours take this fairly accurate quiz!

John, rise up

The exact powers of a Knight are unknown, but it has been described by Aradia as warriors that exploit their aspect as a weapon. They can also be a protecter class.

The Maid class is a pun, and that Maids are "made of (aspect)" or "provide themselves with [aspect],"

A Page "provides others with [aspect]" or "creates [aspect]". Pages have a lot of untapped potential and once they find this potential within them they are adept at using it.

A Mage "benefits themselves with knowledge pertaining to [aspect]" and "guides by setting an example using knowledge pertaining to [aspect],". Alternatively, a Mage may display the absence of their aspect.

A Rogue will generally distribute[aspect] to someone or something outside of themselves after taking it.

The Sylph is a magic-based class that is thought to specialize in healing.

The Seer uses extensive knowledge to coordinate their team members.

Thief will steal, or take their aspect for themselves.

A Heir is "one who protects themselves with [aspect]," or "one who is protected by [aspect]".

Bards are somewhat stranger, in that they "allow destruction of [aspect]" or "invite destruction through [aspect]". The Bard is also quite the wildcard, unpredictable by nature and thus equally likely to help or hinder his party, often to great effect.

The Prince, as the active, is literally simplified to "destroyer of [aspect]" or "one who destroys via [aspect]".

The most common definition of a Witch is "one who manipulates [aspect]," although that seems a little vague.

Mix n Match

Time is one of the two basic fabrics of paradox space. It is associated with the Timetables, time travel and exploits, and timeline maintenance in general. The Hero of Time also has a featureinstalled in their personal world in the Incipisphere: a large structure that will reboot it by rewinding everything to long before the game starts. It is a last resort.

Space has to do with the size of things and their velocity, or basically their position in existence with regards to physics. It also ties in strongly with the aspect of creation.

Void is associated with "the essence of lacking, or nothingness" and "the obfuscation of knowledge", or its "outright destruction".

The Light aspect is equivalent to "fortune" or "knowledge, and involves power over luck and fortuitous outcomes.

The Mind aspect seems to be related to thoughts and decisions of individuals and the consequences of those decisions.

Heart aspect is comparable to "Soul", or essence of being. Heart players have been known to replicate, destroy, and heal ghosts and souls.

The Rage aspect is most likely tied to negative emotions and rage. Rage players normally make more negative impact on the game rater than positive.

Hope seems to embody both its literal meaning and certain holy powers. Belief and will to survive (or not to, depending on class) are attributes of this aspect.

Doom is most likely related to death, an antithesis of Life.

The Life aspect is some kind of innate "life force" of living beings, necessary and sufficient for life to exist. Life players displayed the ability to heal teammates by repairing grievous wounds, and have even been shown to be capable of resurrecting themselves.

The Blood aspect most likely means relationships, including friendship and bonds of allegiance. Common theories include affinity, affection and unity in general, such as the word is used in "blood brothers".

Breath uses air basically. Lame.

You can still die

However, now you can only die a hero's death. Or, if you become a horrible person and your death is an act of justice. Those are the only ways you can die. Suckerstabs and accidental deaths will not permanently kill you, you will shortly be revived. Take note of the video and gifs to the side, when John, the kid with the breath GT, died he was suckerstabbed and soon revived. However, the other charecter with the Light aspect had became a terrible person and fate decided her death was just. Pay no mind to the madman bashing the deciding clock of doom with a crowbar.
